Actually, DL, if you read the benefits guide, it says you pay 100% of preventive care. I think if you read page 13, they actually intended to say that preventive care is paid for by the company, but on page 12 it does say that preventive is 100% paid for by the employee.

UAIR's costs aren't even in the ballpark with SWA's. Some LABOR costs may be close, but that's about it. The debt load alone has to be killing them. The employee costs are such a hot topic because it's the easiest target for inept management.
Absolutely the most disgusting thing I have ever seen on this board!!
I could get into more mudslinging about Delta's accident history, but that would serve no purpose.
FDJ2...you should remove yourself from this board until you can control your emotions, and bring a little more...
I think that making your decision based on getting stuck for a long time may actually get you stuck for a long time. I would look at the carriers with the most growth, and quickest upgrade time. PIC turbine (preferably PIC jet) is the only thing that is going to get you out of the commuters.
Ah the good ol' mid nineties! Back when Delta and US Airways still had pilots on furlough. Back when every commuter was asking new hires to pay $10,000 for a job, when Valujet was paying captains $45,000 a year. Those sure were good days! No race to the bottom back then.
I think the problem was acknowledged about a decade ago when scope clauses started to address the outsourcing of flying to codeshare partners with large turboprops and RJ's.
How do the "majors" stand tall on the pay issue when across the room is a bankruptcy judge getting ready to toss...
UAL591,
I was in the May 8 interview group, and only waited about 4 weeks in phase II. I think the reason for that had very little to do with my qualifications, and quite a bit to do with my involvement during the background check. I called former employers and references before, and during...
The letter is a generic form letter letting everyone with apps on file know that interviews have been put on hold.
Several friends with current apps received the letter today also.
Just saw on an ALPA web board that one of our AAA furloughees got a call on Friday for an April 17th interview. That's the first one I've heard of.
Here's hoping that my call comes soon! ;)
DGS,
Thanks for the info! I appreciate your prompt reply. I came to the same conclusion as you about walking in the update...it may not get me the interview, but it shows effort and desire. Hopefully that will count for something.
Bob
DGS,
I have applied to JB, and am extremely excited about the company, and it's future. I have not received a call from the people department, and I was wondering if you knew what the current competitive level is. Here's a breakdown of my stats.
Tot. time: 6800
