    Non-working glide slope

Have a friend who I fly with in a Mooney. The glide slope needle is simply staying dead center on approaches. This would be good if the airplane were always on the glide slope. But it's not. The glide slope is not flagged in these cases. He has had a mechanic from a radio shop look at it twice...

    Training Contract Terms

I wanted to check and see how many replies I could get about contracts people have signed or been offered and turned down. If you're willing to post, please list the type of aircraft, the time length of the contract, the repayment amount and the company. I don't care if it's a corporate part 91...

    Loss of Pressurization

Was reading up on the SunJet/Payne Stewart accident. I wondered how many pilots here have had a loss of pressurization before. Most specifically, if so, how was it noticed? Catch it with the scan?? Or did you get an annunciator? Handled with no problem? I probably scan the cabin controller...

    Filing Alternate w/changing minimums..?

When filing an alternate, if the alternate airport is 900-2 but will be temporarily 500-1 during the period of your ETA it seems that this should prevent that airport from being eligible as an alternate. FAR 91.169 appears to spell this out pretty clearly. A 121 captain has mentioned to me he...

    Caravan/Navajo Pilots

To anyone who has flown Caravans/Navajos, I was hoping I could get some feedback on likes/dislikes and any operational considerations that would be pertinent to a 135 operation. I've gotten the basic specs that come from the POH's. Just looking for details that salesmen never tell you. Any...

    U.S. Airways shrinking pension plan

Everyone, I rarely start threads. I'm much more of a lurker however after reading in the past on here how pilots slam places like SWA for not having a retirement plan because they don't offer a pension or defined benefit plan this article on what is occuring at U.S . Airways will hopefully...

    Retirement Plans

To anyone who would like to reply, I currently fly part-time while working full-time for a Fortune 500 Corp. I may try flying full-time (CFI) as soon as I finish a Master's degree my current employer has been kind enough to fund(typical benefit). Since I've been flying and surfing this board...
