I thought we were comparing corporate vs. airline types? I think the -400 is a bit more representative of todays airliners (2 crew). As I recall, the engineer is doing the vast majority of the housekeeping on the classic. The BTO check (and for that matter all checklists) on all new...
Not so sure this statement is true.. The 747-400 has 3 items on the before takeoff check. Flaps, flight controls, and flight instruments. The after takeoff check has 2 items, flaps up, gear up and off. No more checklists until coming through 18000 on the way down. The G550 had about 20 items on...
Getting ready to sit down with the boss and discuss pay. Anyone have access to NBAA salary survey? From what I've heard those numbers are more accurate than ProPilot (which I don't have either). I'm looking for realistic numbers, not "don't take anything less than 200K".

Part 91...
Thanks for the info. Looks like after reading Amendment 167 of Annex 1, which took effect Nov 23, they are refering to 121 and 135 only. So is it fair to assume there are no age restrictions for part. 91 PIC?
Anyone know what the latest rules are regarding Part 91 ops in Europe. We're looking at hiring someone who is over 60 and wondering whether he can act as PIC in UK and France.
Thanks
Hey folks,
Starting class at NJA on Jan 23rd. and was wordering if anyone could suggest a good credit card to have, or are we using a company provided card? I was told that for training I would pay for hotel and expense it back to company. Thanks.
According to what they told us at the interview (Nov 10/11), the company will only reimburse you if you decide to move to a domicile after you're included in HBA (top 30% of seniority list) - not gonna happen for a new hire.
What they told me during the interview was once you are allowed to participate in HBA (top 30% of seniority list) which won't happen for years, if ever, if you decide to move to one of the five domiciles, they will pay for your move. You then give up HBA rights forever.
Lets see - CAL is hiring now for what reason? Oh yea, because of retirements. So how many furloughed pilots would have the chance to go there if the age is changed? Like the other post mentioned, I got mine, and I want more!
puckfa18,
It looks like anything can happen, as the Falcon was offered to me, although not sure if I'm taking it. The whole HBA has got me a little unsure.
flyfish,
Unfortunately the class starting today was full, which was the last one before the 21st. So I've got to figure out how this is all going to work. looks like after Jan 1st will be my best bet, since I'll have a "little more free time".
Any of you NJA types out there, if a guy was "hypothetically" offered the X or the Falcon, any benefit to one over the other? Seems like the FA would be nice? Is the flying any different?
so when you call in the night prior do they have to give you a trip or can they just keep you hanging the next day? In your opinion, do you usually end up with "extra" days that you don't fly?
At my current job you're on call for a 15 hour period, then off the hook for 9 hrs. It's an FAA...
