I have a few friends who have or will bypass recall. It is my understanding that the 3 year clock was under the old contract. On another site, someone posted a link to the proposed contract which I believe contains language that indicates that deferrals have 24 months to come back to AA...
From the "other" site we're not allowed to mention here. Which is why I asked the question.
From the latest AINmxReports:
NATA: Database Updates Are Maintenance Tasks
The National Air Transportation Association (NATA), responding to recent member requests, issued a statement that clarifies...
Your pilot's are authorized to update the Nav Data Base and Jepp charts? Hmmm, thought that was forbidden for pilot's to do when operating 135? Our FSDO/POI says it's a "maintenance function" and we are prohibited from doing it.
So I've got a buddy who's on furlough and I'm curious. It's my understanding that once AA gets to the bottom of the list with recalls, the 3 yr bypass clock starts ticking. Anyone have a crystal ball and a good idea of when that should occur?
Care to explain your rationale? I and most of the people I know think just the opposite will occur. The 1500 hr rule (btw doesn't apply to 135, directly) should actually create a higher demand for pilot's thereby reducing the ability of sketchy operators to coerce new hires into PFT.
No math formula but back in the day we used to call that a TACAN point to point. On the HSI put the point you want to go to on the outer edge of the compass rose (180R/70) then visualize your present position (090R/20), proportionally, on the rose. Draw a line btwn the two points. then slide...
Another tenant in our old hangar purchased a 4000 about a year ago. My reaction was how could someone smart enough to amass that much wealth make such a foolish business decision to buy that plane. I don't care how good some may think it is as an airplane, anyone with half a brain in this...
It is my understanding that EJM only makes "recommendations" as to compensation when asked by the client. If you are presently employed by the company which owns the aircraft then I would say your keeping what you've got as far as salary goes. That does not mean that if you cannot inquire with...
Does the company want the department personnel to be employees of the management company? Lots more to think about if so. Hands down EJM has the best benefit plan of any management company I've been affiliated with.
If it's just to "manage" the plane, well then interview a few and see what...
Excuse my ignorance but if the judge abrogates the Union(s) contracts, are they still bound by the NMB and RLA?
As an outsider with no experience in the 121 world, I would think that if the contract is dismissed then the employees are free to do whatever they please.
Not even when he rents from Hertz. Always the "Prestige Collection" for our illustrious brother :pimp:.
However, I'm thinking that old LR-35 and the G200 (wasn't it really a Galaxy?)ain't too far off from the Hawkersaurus.
No idea how long you've been at this aviation thing but if the stats in your profile are correct I'll assume you are still quite new to this biz. That said,it's highly unlikely that this would be the job you retire from. If you've got an "in" and it's a better gig than your present one then go...
Gogo Biz (Aircell) equipment cost's around $60k depending upon what you already have in your plane. Install depends on who's doing it. Domestic only, we have had it for two months now and its been working very well. Get the unlimited data plan for $2k/month!!!!!!!!!! Only takes one time to...
Nice condescending attitude in your post.
Where did I ever say our reject items are a moving target?
Our procedure is that anyone can call abort prior to V1 (this was relatively new). We are both typed and very experienced and always fly together.
However the point of the post was that runway...
So I haven't heard one word about BFL or TODA in this entire discussion. Couple that with the Boeing data which I believe is ancient (lots of brake technology improvements since the 80's) and we have a new can of worms.
Lets say V1 is 116 and BFL is 4650' but the TODA is 7800'. The PF's PDU...
How many of the pilots at DPJ work on a specific aircraft and work directly or indirectly (but specifically) for the owner?
I would think it's likely that they are making much more than a DPJ "pool" pilot and would have no interest whatsoever in a union.
