New airline pilots on the radio

OOH snap. I sat right seat with a Fed doing some currency landings and he ranted about the "please advise" call when he heard it. I try not to get too cranky when flying a prop on a summer day on the government's dime, but that's just me.

I guess no doesn't mean no for Delta

The same bull******************** keeps Uber and Lyft out of cities. If you can do it better, you should be able to. Let the customer decide, not bureaucrats. This isn't the USSR. I'd love to fly another airline out of ATL.

    Unnecessary verbage

I'm an airline pilot and these all piss me off, too. Especially "Fishfinder," and saying Sugar instead of Sierra or some other thing for another letter (unless you're in ATL). I like ORD where the ground controller just gives you a taxi instruction and you follow it without saying anything. I...

    And so it begins...

Do you need a bachelor's to get on at SWA as a pilot? When did that become a requirement?

Question for Delta Guys...how does "promptly" work for you?

Haha reprimanded for being late to work. What is this world coming to?

    SAPA "Negotiations" Update

Skywest's financials are public. You want 150 an hour then the company will be out of business as soon as they blow through their cash reserves. This isn't the government, we have to make money and we have relatively fixed revenue.

More latter day saint squid tactics

    1. Never met a Mormon who was an ahole. 2. Met many XJT pilots who were aholes. I even saw a video one recorded hoping a SKW pilot would fall off a belt loader and hurt himself in Houston (see earlier thread). 3. Anyone can get a college degree. It isn't that hard. Much easier than actual work...

Skywest pilot tool rides a belt loader

I'm glad you care so much about his safety. Maybe if tools like this voyeur with the camera weren't so anti-work ethic, Express wouldn't be hoping for scraps from Skywest. "I hope he falls" Real nice. How many passengers heard that?

    SkyWest, Inc. announces E175 orders

Why would any of the new planes go to ASA/XJT?
  10. Gutenberg

    SKYW stock tumble?

They are spending a lot on the ASA merger and hiring. Their balance sheet is taking a hit, but I think it is a good strategic move. That would explain the credit downgrade and the devaluation. Merging union carriers is expensive, but I think it is worth it in the long run.

    GO JET info

I would fly for Gojet. They are no worse than Skywest, Eagle, or any other regional. At least I could be home-based and see my wife.

What, with you violating him like in Deliverance? Squeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!:crying:

    Part-time job ideas?

I tried Amway/Quixtar for awhile and just broke even. What I didn't like was the cult-like atmosphere of their meetings. Also, the uplines make quite a bit of their money giving seminars and selling CD's, not the products. The products are no different than the crap we all buy at the store...

    who's the jerk at PWK?

It's confusing there because you actually are supposed to hold short of 24 and 34, but it is not on the ATIS. Personally, I think George sounds like Mike North on Sports Radio 670. In your best Chicago accent... "We're the WISE GUYS!"

    low time pilots

you will have to sign a training contract that becomes effective after you become a PIC. The planes are very well maintained (when you interview they will show you the huge parts inventory). Expect to make no less than 24,000 a year. As an SIC you will push 100 hours a month of Baron time...

    Options

What's the deal with FLOPs? I never see anything about them on the boards. Do they have a MDW base? What are their mins? Would anybody recommend flying for them? What is the schedule like? How do you apply because their website is very application un-friendly. Thanks!

    Chicago area jobs?

DB does have at least one lear. I've heard them on the radio. Also check out Scott aviation in DPA.

    Flight Service Stations

Do we really need them anyway? They tell me not to fly when it's severe clear with a single pop up 30 miles away on an August afternoon. Capitalism works. I only call them as a formality when I don't have a computer handy. All copilots should be aviation lawyers too.
