Special VFR Class C/D when the airport is reporting VFR

I may be misinterpreting it, but if you were in C above D, then you weren't in the Class C surface area, and since you weren't in the D then you weren't in the Class D surface area either and so he wasn't able to give you the clearance. Him replying that the field is VFR so you can't have SVFR...

Part 135 First Officer Intern Wanted

http://flightopenings.com/index.php/job-categories?c=jsjobs&view=jobposting&layout=viewjob&vj=2&jobcat=58&jobid=230 It looks like they're hiring captains. I wonder if the company would accept the 300 hours SIC as counting towards the required 500 multi. Somehow I doubt it.

Part 135 First Officer Intern Wanted

I can't believe that anyone would pay 13,500, + housing for the pleasure of Beech 99 SIC time. Is SIC even a required crew-member? That's not an internship, that's robbery.

Hood Time - No IFR Training

Don't do that. If it is a valid flight keep it in there. Even if you are not allowed to use it for the Instrument Cross Country requirements it's still a flight you performed and can be logged.

This will have a negative impact on affirmative action hiring at the majors

Am I missing something? Have you intentionally misspelled "fair" in all of your posts? I'm just wondering if FARE is an acronym or something that I am unaware of.

    Regulations: SVFR

Special VFR does not specifically reduce the minimums to Class G Minimums, it reduces them to 1 mile visibility and clear of clouds, even at night. So if you were to depart a class D at night normal VFR would be 3, 500, 1000, 2000. It would be the same for Class G, however under Special VFR you...

    Here's a strange one...

They found him, still wearing skydiving gear, at a hotel. He was wet up to the knees and tried to explain it as a canoe accident. He should have made sure he had enough fuel to reach the gulf, then the missing body could have been explained away as floating free from the wreckage.

Which American Flyers in Texas is Best?

You sure can whip his book out, in fact i did. I had been reading it the night before my ride and had put it into my flight bag with my other publications. When I stumbled on one of the questions my examiner told me to feel free to use a reference. I reached into my bag and out came the book...
