    US Airways jumpseat question

Just show up at the gate. Way less cumbersome than the American method.

    PHL Crashpad?

http://www.phlcrashpad.com But I think he's full right now. Keep checking though, as there may be more than a few guys bailing off the 190 in August bid.

    Alaska 737-400s?

I got 499.9 hours on the 300/400 in my first year at Airways before leaving for the Bus. Compared to the 300, the 400 had lots more get-up-and-go. Of course, that's my perspective after flying the CRJ 200 for eight years. I was always amazed at the climb rate in the 20's compared to what I...

    Vision Correction

No company ever asked me. A doctor can tell if you had the procedure by looking at your corneas, but I'm not aware of any US company that would disqualify you for having LASIK. Your medical certificate will not have any mention of the procedure.

    Vision Correction

I had LASIK way back in 1999. Still 20/20, and no regrets. Best money spent.

    US Airways Calls

Not quite true. I can't remember what the vacation accrual in the MOU is, but I know it's better than 7 days for the first eight years like we have now.

    US Airways Application Issues

I was hired ten months ago and I don't remember seeing a requirement for passing initial training within the past five years. My previous initial on a new aircraft was seven years prior to my interview. Is it a new requirement?

Got the Rejection Letter from Usairways

Eleven days off, usually groups of 4, 3, 2, 2. The group of four are hard days, but I've never had them take a day off from me, though technically they can. Long-call is nine hours, short-call 1.5 hours. I held long-call right away on the 737, but it might take longer on the other aircraft...

Got the Rejection Letter from Usairways

I will probably get heat for this post, but I'm just trying to be honest... First of all, like others have said, many pilots get an interview invite after being rejected previously. If you really want to work at Airways, keep applying and hope for the best. However, if you were rejected for...

    US Airways Contract Projections

I'm very happy I made the move as well. The company is much better-run than the regional I left. The training is top-notch. The instructors treat you like a customer. Reserve is not so bad if you can hold long-call as a commuter. Every captain has been fantastic. When I mention that I'm a...

USAir jumpseat - "are you listed?"

Sorry you've been having trouble with us. You'll hear the same thing from American agents if you ask for the jumpseat, except it's not just at certain stations -- it's everywhere. They used to make you call their non-rev number and list, but you had to do it between the hours of 9:34am and...

    US Airways Application

My class in Feb. was 4-737, 6-190. Class behind us was at least 5-737. No Airbus for either class.

US air thanks but no thanks letter

I've interviewed and been rejected by SWA twice. My Airways interview in December went well, and I was fortunate to get the job. I don't think anyone can think of themselves as over-qualified for any flying job right now. There just aren't that many places hiring, and the competition is still...
