121 PIC isn't worth that much anymore. I'll sell you some of mine.

    simple tax question

I may be wrong, but without looking it up, I believe you can only deduct the amount over 2% AGI (adjusted gross income). Same as medical expenses, uniforms, etc

    Free TYPEs for ATA

Escalating fuel prices will force the smaller corporate operators to park their a/c. Travel is one of the first budgets to go.

Using Hotel Room TV to listen to Ipod

I spend as little time as possible in the hotel room. I listen to music at the bar. Ipod on the TV? Must be a 'slam-clicker'.

    Mesa to file bankruptcy

If they declare BK, vendors are unlikely to extend credit for fear of standing in line after liquidation for the chance of getting perhaps 10% of their outstanding debt. Fuel vendors, hotels, parts suppliers, contract mx and others will require cash or immediate settlement to continue...

    Regional contract flying

I thought you can only be employed by a single 121 operator at a time. Side work with a 135/91 would be legal. Naturally 30/100/1000 flight limitations apply.

I VOTED...COLGAN AND ALPA SITTIN' in the TREE

Nice title. Reminds me of something appropriate. Colgan and ALPA sitting in the tree, K.I.S.S.I.N.G...First came love, then came marriage..then comes Colgan pushing a baby carriage.

Must've bought a radar gun on Ebay. You'll be getting a ticket in the mail.

I just heard Eastern and Braniff are out of business.

    Republic VS. Skywest

Perhaps the ATP minimum is no longer required. I know in the past it was due to a sim limitation and insurance not permitting training in the aircraft (15% ride). Demanding anything from RAH is a mistake. You're likely to be thanked for your time and wished good luck in your career.

    ATP mins for the 170/175.

    Republic VS. Skywest

How does a junior base equate to a short upgrade? Every airline has a 'junior' base. American has a junior base and their upgrades are about 15 years. Republic Airways (Chq, Shuttle and Republic Airlines) are running about 2+ years for the CRJ and 145. 170 (Denver) 3+. If your flight time is...

    Air Whiskey abort in MKE

Hell, I would abort if I saw my Starbucks about to spill. Abort for red lights/triple chimes, wings falling off and coffee. Continue for yellow/single chime and fo's coffee spills

This is the result of living near the toxic old steelmills.

    logging sim time

This topic comes up every few months. If you do a search you will find varying answers. Personally I don't log sim. It doesn't count for much (no multi, total, night, instrument, XC). Sim only. I wouldn't clutter my logbook with sim time.

This thread about food made me hungry. I feel like a nice ham sandwich and fried catfish.

Carrying liquids while not it uniform? B.S.!!!!

Logic like this makes sense when you consider the talent the TSA hires. Most of the public is exceedingly overqualified. It's not hard to imagine the boredom we would endure after 1/2 hour scanning bags and shoes. The TSA probably has a pre-employment cognitive test for applicants. Those...
