I'm told that the recruiting department lost a major player- in general I've observed that it is best to imagine several possible futures, then look at what events could take place that might foreshadow each of those futures coming to pass. For example, one possible future is that Airnet is...
Greetings all-
Questions for the TEB guys-
Does anyone live in Manhattan? Hoboken?
Where do your trips start usually, TEB or airline out?
Any other things I should know about being out there? Trying to decide between TEB and CMH
Thanks
Debating whether or not I should go to the interview next month and, if offered, accept a job. Long term I want to be in Denver. I don't want to make a decision based on what might happen at the next contract negotiation, so I'm curious if any of you are trying to make Denver work. Seems...
Almerick-
Twin time is much less important than instrument currency- more importnat proficiency. I knew guys get on with 25 hours multi, but if your scan is bad training will be tough. Get some instrument practice, as much as you can... Good Luck
ready-
I echo the others. Airnet doesn'y MAKE anyone do anything. That's the most important thing I've learned here. The PIC is the boss. End of F***in' story. Dispatch has no authority or responsibility over the flight. You have your mission and it's up to you to make it work...
ANother thought- a format EXACTLY like the above (very linear, left justified, etc) works great on all those applications that are on-line format, meaning they want you to "cut and paste your resume into the field below", or something like that. The computer uploaded resumes don't handle...
I've found it useful to have a good handy-man or (VERY) trusted friend commit to being willing to let her call if there's a fire that needs putting out while I'm gone. It's great to know that someone is there when the sink starts to leak or a tire goes flat. When small problems don't escalate...
If you are not even 23 yet, I say sit tight for at least another few months. You're making good money (for your age, not your seat) and building the same time you'd build at a regional. Although I know it's crappy spending that much time with a jerk.... Your hotel room situation is absolutely...
If you are still looking, crewcommute.com is a good site to try. You can search for free, (List a place free as well) and some of the pads have pictures, which helps A LOT... I listed a place in ATL and it worked well for me. Good Luck!
wow....
First of all, thanks to everyone for chiming in.... I've got plenty to think about I guess... Still looking for crashpad finding hints, since that would be a big part of the quality of life decision.... has anyone used crewcommute.com or something similar? IS word of mouth the best...
I am thinking of starting to commute to be closer to my better half- The situation I have in mind would involve riding my own airline in addition to jumpseating another line or possibly driving 5 hrs to my hub.... looking for opinions on do's/don'ts.... Also looking for hints on finding a crash...
