Sure hope ur Airline never files bankruptcy! If they do...u can kiss that pay rate and work rules goodbye! Never assume any airline is safe from a CEO who has no clue how to run a company. For an industry new hire, SW looks like they have been crushing the industry with their payrates and work... -

AK pilots...commute from San Juans?
Sure would be easier to own a plane, fly to mainland to fill up on Costco stuff...fly back and avoid the ferry lines! Now we just need pay raises!! Sure is beautiful area tho! -

Are you a newhire? Only a newhire fresh out of training; ink still wet on the JNU checkout would gloat about a SAQ airport. Is this a CA only airport? Needless to say, any training department at DAL, UAL, AMR, SWA etc could spin up a JNU program. It just takes time and $$. Until now the... -

My takeaway: many nights to dark and desolate airports...controllers want to pimp u to take a visual, or...they vector u close in base 1500' inside FAF. No more...on initial contact, ATC will get the ATIS code and request vectors OUTSIDE FAF for the visual (if no FAF; 7 mi final off extended... -

Alaska Announces SLC-LAX,SJC,PDX,SEA,SAN
I would guess if DAL actually combined with AK...SEA and LAX will be the only surviving bases. Not sure about ANC with Horizon beginning ops up there. DL has a LAX 737 base so AK won't get a fence on that one. So...probably only SEA 737. Lets hope this never happens and both airlines just grow... -

Actually, I think it would be a pretty easy integration. AK would fence base in SEA, DL could fence anything bigger than 737. Everyone would be happy! -

Unfortunately, I agree with this...the BODs at AA/US, UA/CAL or DL will have no problem figuring out a way to absorb AK IF the numbers work. It is all about the numbers... -

^^^^^^^^THIS^^^^^^^^^^ DL will not entertain 717s with pilots. Mgt is way too smart, unlike GK, to start a pilot civil war during a SLI with lowest pay a/c on the list. -
