Scott, what have you done to make the training department a better place? Last time I checked, you were not contributing to the "mediocre" training department. I am sure your lack of involvement must be what is making this a "mediocre" department. There are challenges in the training department...
I have had the storm since it came out. I love it. It was my first BB. Each of these problems I had and they are very easy fixes. Check out crackberry.com, tons of info there on how to operate.
Ahh, the good ole days of Mark and Preston Murray. I learned a lot while working there. I guess they don't own it any more.
Best of luck to the guys with the emergency.
I guess by your screen name your already looking for a way around it. You sign it on day one. They will enforce it if you just leave. If you fail, of course you are free.
What was little hitlers name and where did he go? I remember him sitting in the crew room with his checklist and stopwatch seeing if you were a second late for show time. I think he knew how much everyone hated him.
If I remember right he, like many other DOs, wanted to do away with the pilots. I went to intial ground school and two years of recurrent before I ever saw him even talk to a pilot when he would come out of his cave for coffee.
Glad to hear that your union is strong, and does not forge their medicals then disappear off the face of the earth when they are confronted by the chief pilot. Just one of the many great experiences with "my union" that provided relief when ever the company needed it. But then again, I guess...
I agree somewhat, however, my experince has been if the company wanted relief on a certain work rule, they would do as they wanted and told ALPA to allow relief and ALPA would. Overall, yes a union would probably not let two days go but would instead urge the company to go to "premium pay" or...
With or without a union, the company can do what it pleases. Union may slow things down, but if they want to break the contract they can and will with or without the union approval.
How does Colgan do their upgrades? With no contract to stipulate the bidding, do they pick who has the most total time and aircraft time? What if two pilots are hired one has 3000 hours and the other has the mins. All other things being equal who upgrades first?
How is Colgan going to park 15 Q400s at Newark every night? They are going to need an outstation I would think? The Q is a big airplane for a truboprop. I cant see them having enough gate space for the Q every night. Any ideas what they are going to do?
