    Legacy Airlines Hot Again

You guys crack me up. This thread is on the subject of finacial viability of Legacy carriers and look how quickly the subject turned. I think the experimantal hiring that happened in the 90's is mostly gone for now. I'll make a serious attempt to comment on this but we have a firecracker of...

Jetblue A-320 to Land at ORD 1030AM CST

Observation. Doesn't the General work for Mama Della? Another thing, countless B6 guys had a fricken field day with the "legacy" guys for the last five years. Turnabout get's a hall pass? I don't think so. Amazing.

    FedEx chief pilot rant

It's interesting, one big manjor airline in particular (70's and 80's) had this very scenario occur, wih FAA anger, etc. Only it was a pax airline and otherwise survivable accidents from the crew perspective had some grannys and slow folk killed during evac from smoke, etc. So it was in fact...

DOT seeks age 60 opinion, young guys speak up

Buddy, you have got to be kidding me. Furloughed for a year, and that gives you any idea of what it is like out there right now in the "outside" where you are attempting to raise the drawbridge behind you? You are out of touch. This isn't a "fairness" issue. This is a "discrimination"...

DOT seeks age 60 opinion, young guys speak up

Fairness? There is no fairness in business, is there? How about we negotiate a deal. We get rid of seniority entirely and go on merit. And we can all work till our little tickers stop mid trip. How's that? Everybody's right, this is not a safety issue at all. O'l Frankie L. would be proud of us...

UAL announces another recall class- 21 Aug

Wow, I had written off this website almost entirely as a bunch of backstabbing little boys at airline pilot summer camp until I read your post. Thanks. You will do well in your career because you haven't harvested the negativity and hostility that permeate the lower levels of our collective...

Airline Pilots Still Flying, but No Longer Quite So High

It is what is is. The reporter is aggressively sticking to his story that the "spoiled brat" comment was valid and not taken out of context. Due to the interest (or scuttle), the article was moved from the website onto a printed edition. The SWA union is aggressively standing by that fact that...

How do you take your tail number off flight tracking???

Yes. My reply was intended to be sarcastic. But sometimes things don't come out right on these boards ;) Besides, if you pay over 700 clams for the pleasure of blocking the tail number on this above mentioned website, you only block your number on this particular site, and not all the other...

    FedEx hiring

This website is a double edged sword. Get the intel but load shed the negative. If you want to work at FedEx by all means apply and update. If all elese fails your persistence will pay off at either FedEx, orsomewhere else.

Is TCAS II required for RVSM?

\ TCAS I is approved for RVSM. If it is TCAS II, then it MUST be version 7 or higher.

    UAL Returning Furloughees

Hey Acro, do you have any sort of idea when guys at your seniority will see recall? I know it is a crap shoot... just wondering.

    PFT... It DOES work!

I only thought Gulfstream was PFT, I didn't realize it was a training program with passengers on board. I absolutely cringed at the "From zero time to Captain in two years..." bragging. It really makes one feel like a fry cook. I suppose that's why the pay is starting to look like fry cook pay...

AMR pilots; how many on furlough, when do you expect recalls to start?

This has got to be about the least "enlightened" comment I've seen on this board in a while (that's tough to do if you have a both a brain and a soul that aren't inop). Ever hear of Karma, "bro"?

    135 Passenger Briefing Cards

Dude, this is a simple question. Why must we all jump all over everyone and turn a completely politically free post negative? Glad to see you got something amid the seagull droppings.

    Is flying an airliner easy?

I think UAL78 offered some pretty good perspective to the original question. As far as the social engineering that went on in the "late 80's and 90's" and still does to a degree, let's be honest here... at a hell of a lot more airlines than just Marvin (UAL for the layman) played this little...

    Is flying an airliner easy?

...depends on what your definition for flying an airplane is... I always cringe a bit when pilots put little emphasis on the brain work that goes into flying a high performance machine - in a PROFTABLE and completely comfortable, safe manner day in and day out, in all sorts of conditions...

    US Airways new paint job!

Yes, that's exactly right. But you also know that the ATSB guaruntee is just that, taxbase funded money in forms of loan guaruntees. And guess what? I completely agree with it. I'm happy USAirways got it. I think letting companies like USAirways, United, Delta, American or any other...
