Electronic Logbooks: How do you bind them?

That's exactly what I did. Printed it out for my last interview, had it bound at some local copy shop and signed every page. I don't even keep a log anymore. The company maintains a computer flight register, which is adequate to meet the currency requirements for the FED's. RB

    Had UPS interview...now what?

Pool letters don't mention any of those things. RB

    Brown Hiring Requirements

A few weeks ago I flew with a guy hired in ’01. He told me he did not have a college degree. RB

    Ups

I didn't say it was easy to get in as a manager...I said it was easier than getting in as a line pilot. By your own numbers, 100 of 800 getting called for an interview...or simply 1 out of 8...the odds of getting called to interview for management are much better than the odds of getting...

    Ups

Hyeflyin, first...please know that what Uppercrust says is complete flame bait. You have as good a chance of getting an interview as anyone who has one recommendation from a single line-pilot...and that’s quite a lot of applicants. I wouldn’t want to see you sit on the edge of your seat thinking...

    What happened to “Search?”

Websitemaster, I tried again. It did accept the 3 letter search string, but (since we're using UPS as an example), it wasn't very accurate. The results omitted a ton of recent threads that include "UPS" in the body. Rory

    What happened to “Search?”

I used to be able to search three-letter strings without a problem (i.e. UPS). Lately, UPS is not a valid search. Instead, you must search UPS*, which results in tons of irrelevant returns (ie. UPSet, UPSide, groUPS, etc). Anyone know what’s up? Rory

    UPS Flight MGMT

Someone I know who is starting in management next week was contacted by phone to let him know he was in the management "pool" and then contacted by phone a few weeks later about the physical. Are you unemployed? Because if you're not, I can't imagine why you'd want to sentence yourself to a...

    What's the latest w/ UPS?

Jan 30th Don't know if it's only management or both management and IPA, but I know someone who starts on Jan 30th. He will be in management. RB

Any new, cool headests out there?

Any new, cool headsets out there? I need a new headset for use in the 757/767. Has to have a boom mike. Willing to spend around $400. What’s new and cutting edge? I’ve heard there are Bluetooth wireless headsets now? What about ANR with no battery pack? I know the...

UPS MGMT Pilot -- Ready, Aim, Fire!

NoKoolAid…you’re not serious with that analogy, are you? No one is saying that corporate officers who show up at the office during a pilot strike are SCABS…at UPS or any other airline. But if that corporate officer (President, CEO, CFO or management pilot) flies an airplane during a pilot...

    UPS QOL Question

Wow...I've been at UPS for nearly a year and didn't realize you can't drop trips. I've never had a trip (other than a reserve assignment), so I guess I never gave it much thought. I also recently saw a thread elsewhere about picking-up a trips. Unless I misunderstood the specifics...

    UPS Hiring News

For what it’s worth, I spoke with PD earlier this week and asked if he anticipated hiring to continue beyond the previously announced 300. His response was that they hadn’t yet been told what the hiring plan is for 2006 but that he didn’t think it would be as much as this year. Again, this...

    UPS international base? FedEx Paris?

UPS has an international base in Louisville on the 757-767 fleet. It’s known as the “Z” domicile. There is a separate 757-767 domestic base also in Louisville. RB

Anyone know where these 747-400ERF's are headed???

I heard drinking smoothies made with papaya and kiwi will make your penis larger. Seriously, I heard it from a guy whose brother-in-law is having an affair with Tom Cruise. I also heard UPS is changing their color from brown to red. Supposedly, they want to expand more into China, so it’s a...

A month in the life of a UPS pilot

Some Answers I’m a new guy…by no means an expert, but I can offer a new guys perspective: (1) How long are the bid periods? (A) 28 days. We bid 2 at a time = 56 days. (2) What is life like on reserve? (A) As with many of these questions, it depends. It depends on what seat...

    UPS new hires to MD-11!

I love the phraseology FedEx uses...”passover pay.” Sounds like money that should be used to buy matzoh :) UPS calls is “bypass” pay. Others call it “withholding.” It’s all the same. Yes, the new hire SO’s are being bypassed per a MOU that was signed around December of last year. It says new...
