Don't go get your A and P just for this, you don't need it anymore. Those old guys think you do but they are full of it! Pilots don't fly all day and turn wrenches all night anymore the duty day won't allow it. Just keep sending in your resume and keep talking to whoever is "chief pilot"...

I know you don't want to hear it, BUT, you need to get your CFI and instruct, or haul banners, you just can't get a real job with that kind of time. Trust me I've been there.
If you are within 3000 feet of the ground cruising altitudes don't matter, also you might as well blast right into those MOA's, it's perfectly legal to do so. But yes, if you want to do it right you will need to change altitudes as you change headings.

"i dont think anyone can comment without knowing exactly what the terrain was around the freeway...generally though freeways are much better that fields...the cars will get out of your way and if they dont, your 4 seater airplane isnt going to do much damage, more than likely a collision would...
