How are Expats taxed after the 87k?

Social security taxes generally do not apply to wages earned outside the US, with the exceptions of that rule you see below. The exception is if you are self employed, you will pay on all earnings, the exclusion does not apply. The following is from IRS Publication 54...

Jet Fuel Prices WILL Be Climbing A LOT, and Soon

Too bad you can't buy the diesel version here, if you can get 24 out of the V8 then you'd be sure to get 40-45 from the diesel. Your car is still a gas guzzler, if you'd bought an Accord and drove it in the same manner you'd get 40mpg too. Sure it's not union built, but the Accord is just as...

Jet Fuel Prices WILL Be Climbing A LOT, and Soon

Yeah sure you do, you average 1 mpg over the EPA (revised) highway rating? If you do avg 24 mpg you are driving 55mph in the right lane and basically never using that 350hp.

Jet Fuel Prices WILL Be Climbing A LOT, and Soon

Worldwide demand for diesel is way up, much more so then demand for gasoline, which is actually falling in the US. Outside of the US there has been a huge switch to diesel fuel, in the EU over half the new cars sold are diesels. Because of the lower demand for gasoline in the EU they have an...

    wall map

Everything posted after NW_Pilot should be surrounded by sarcasm tags. Although the Ordinance Survey did make some pretty nice maps before the invention of the technology used today.

I thought most of the world was mapped before a US government existed.

    wall map

Because you are buying a map in the USA. If you want a map with somewhere else as the center buy it on your many travels. Only in the USA (well UK also) would someone be PC enough to ask that question.

    Challenger 300 $$$$

It's just typically poor Bombardier support. They know how many aircraft they are going to sell years ahead how hard is it to have enough simulators? Training is an issue right now for just about every operator out there.

OPEC accuses U.S. on oil prices

The theory on why there are the bailouts is that if you let one company go BK then those assets will be sold off in the open market. All of the sudden those assets will have a much lower market value, meaning that other banks with similar assets of their balance sheets will be weakened and...

You'll have to decide for yourself, but that number comes from this John Hopkins survey conducted in 2006.

    APU Usage

Ironically the Challenger 600 series can't take power at most FBOs because it needs AC power. GPUs at FBO almost always only supply DC power.

OPEC accuses U.S. on oil prices

What is the solution then? If you are locked into your employers plan what can you really do? Spend over 10% of mostly non-deductible after tax income on a individual health plan?

OPEC accuses U.S. on oil prices

Because Britian sucks. Same reason there are no British car manufactures left. There are plenty of better systems to model ours after. You are uninformed. You should read one of Obama's books or look at his website. The general idea is to reduce waste and lower costs so that regular people...
