    There will not be a replacement for the -38. UAVs are growing exponentially and the need for F-22/F-35 pilots decreases as production levels are cut. We'll never see another new bomber, tanker, and certainly not another supersonic fighter pilot trainer IMO. You'll see all of SUPT done in a T-6.

    Even I think Instructor dude is crazy. I'm just saying that capts that think they deserve 300k are nuts. We even have some at UPS that brag about making 400k. Given the supply of pilots there is no way we should be making that.

    UPS retired all the 727s last year and all of the 747 classics are almost gone, (will be gone by end of the year.) The DC-8s are being parked as well due to fuel costs. This is all about efficiencies of airplanes and has nothing to do with people.

    The A300 has a speed trend arrow. I was taught not to use known pitch and power settings. If you lose airspeed info there are pitch/power settings on the yoke. With that being said, I have noticed 1.07 EPR to be a common number on a fully configured approach. The only other advice I can offer...

    DHL using airplanes for the express side was inefficient. UPS will be flying some of the cargo on existing airplanes but will also truck and send by rail a lot also. DHL knows that UPS has the resources to do it cheaper. Using DC-9s has just become too expensive given the recent oil market...
