    Mesa, Aloha and -$?

Reading over the 8-K from Mesa, it seems like the Aloha name might not be in their favor. It reads like Mesa has to operate in Hawaii under the Aloha name for ten years or pay a huge fee. Am I reading this wrong or could there be a silver lining in this deal (the end of Mesa)? eP.

    State of the Industry?

So what is it like to be a regional pilot? I have been reading through the threads here and for the most part I'm getting a picture of an industry that doesn't match my apparent delusional expectations. From strikes and scabs to contracts and negotiations, planes under this color and that...

    Funny IAP Fix Naming

I've come across a few IAPs with some unique fix names. The FAA must have a hint of humor somewhere within their ranks. Check out these two charts: KPSM; RNAV (GPS) RWY 16 http://www.naco.faa.gov/d-tpp/0510/00678R16.PDF KMCI; ILS RWY 1R http://www.naco.faa.gov/d-tpp/0510/00780I1R.PDF...

    Aerodynamic Balance

I'm doing my CFI checkride and I'm asked about mass balance and aerodynamic balance. I know that the ailerons, rudder and elevator of a Cessna 172RG (most cessna and aircraft in general) are mass or horn balanced and I understand that it makes control inputs by the pilot easy and cuts down on...
