    Well said and spot on!

    Petersen Aviation VNY

Actually there are severak aircraft built into that number. When you factor them out of that price, the deal is worth closer to 60 million, or so I am told.

    Petersen Aviation VNY

I have heard the same thing. Jet Aviation is supposed to be sniffing around the package, which is way over priced BTW.

the life as a "corporate pilot"

Agreed. To many years at the airlines although they were what some would refer to as the "Golden Years", but none the less I have enjoyed the coprorate flying as much as anything I did in my prior life. Leaving the company that I have flown for during the last five years and starting anew with...

    B767 Fuel burn

Can any of you DHL or Airborne guys comment regarding a typicall flight plan fuel burn for a six hour leg. No alternate, no contigencey, no holding just the leg fuel. If not six hours, how about four as a place to start. Either JT9' or CF6's are okay for this estimate. Thanks in advance

I wonder what that pays? Any ideas would be appreciated.

    Boeing 767 Flight Hour Costs

Might go over and look at www.speednews.com. There may be some leads to your answer over there as they deal mostly with large airframes and powerplants. Sounds like a neat project. Good luck.

With an avitar like that, sounds like you probably know from where you speak!

    Boeing 767 Flight Hour Costs

You need to give just a little more info. B767-200,300,400? Not sure how you plan to buy fuel? I just don't think you can even get close to an accurate as this can vary to extremes. Is the airframe going to need major work in the next 24 months, I mean something bigger than a C check? Gear swap...

    Best Management Company

Not sure where you got your data from but I believe TAG is the largest charter (hours flown) in the US.

    Best Management Company

Forgetting the above issue regarding charter time, I would put TAG Avaition at the top of my list. I assume you would become a TAG employee and not what TAG refers to as a Charter Ally?

    Reverse Thrust vs. Contaminated Runways

No one is suggesting that the reversers not be used. Just that they not be factored into the landing distance required on a contaminated runway. Any other references to what might have caused the SWA is pure speculation at best and should not be considered until after the NTSB report is out and...

    Reverse Thrust vs. Contaminated Runways

    Thank you!

    Reverse Thrust vs. Contaminated Runways

The NTSB, today has urged the FAA to eliminate any credit for thrust reverse when computing landing distances on contaminated runways. This is a direct result of the SWA accident at Midway. More to follow. Read the NTSB action letter at; http://www.ntsb.gov/recs/letters/2006/A06_16.pdf

L39 Albatros Crashes and Burns in AK Trailer Park, Pilot Ejected...

You are correct on all the above. The materials are the big issue and yes it is very, very expensive to maintain these systems, so some people just ignore it and hope for the best!

Lear 45 "bat outta hell" departure at KAUS

Maybe someone here recalls the Clay Lacy Lear24B that did the zoom climb stunt while taking off one day at SFO, Rwy 28. Low overcast that gave a spectacular effect when you punched through the tops at around 600'. Don't know what happened, but the vertical speed up was tremendous at first, then...

The Skinny on the Age 60 Rule

Clyde, you look like you might be a UPS guy. With all the money you will make in the balance of your career, regardless if it ends at 55 or 65, but somewhere in there you will have the perfect time to pull the trigger assuming you are not already 53? Some pilots want to work beyond that magical...
