Recent history... I must be getting old then because it seem like just yesterday that the DOJ stopped the merger between UAL and somebody... was it USAir? I don't remember... but I do remember that it was stopped. -
737 NG operators, how much fuel do you land with?
I agree with tico - outboard main fuel pumps light up on roll out for me at least once a month. Nothing to see, no big deal, move along. Now on most flights, dispatch has got so much gas on us that I'm just trying to get to MGLW. I chuckle with my inside voice every time I hear a pot bellied... -

Boxboy, I agree with you, it's not just about pay. I said so above. What little I know about the F/A's contract seems to show that they are not that concerned with pay. There are other parts of their contract that they want to hold one to (productivity issues) that the company want to get...- AK737FO

So they are now 2 years without a contract and they just added another 6 months to a year to that. It takes time to move the pig through the python after a rejected TA. I have not seen their TA so I don't know if it was good, bad or middle of the road. I do know that every FA I asked about...- AK737FO

The answer is - not well! The 727 and the 737-200 days were old school LDA approaches. Basically to VFR mins. Back then, reliable service in and out of JNU was not good. Those days are gone and the good people of JNU have come to understand what we can do today with the magic of RNP. I'm... -

General, I could be wrong, but I doubt that DL has the same RNP approaches into JNU that we use. Our mins are quite good. Then there is the issue of our JAWS - something that took years to develop and get certified by the FAA for our hill wind limitations. I don't know for sure if that "belongs"... -

Interesting article. Looks like Big D didn't bother to tell the JNU airport or the FAA that they were going to fly to JNU next spring. With no RNP, I see lots of gate holds in SEA followed by JNU over flights on the way to the ANC alternate. It will work out pretty well as a non-rev express... -

alaska updates
2017: All 400's retired - last ones out the door will probably be the 5 combi's and 1 freighter. Company's plans call for three 700 freighters. Combi's will no longer exist. By then, QX will be in place to fly most of the passenger in state routes. Senior guys in ANC will hold awesome... -
