    Knowles Car Rental on Eleuthera

Just a heads up to all you travelers to stay away from the Knowles Car Rental company, or Clinton Knowles, or Tanya Knowles, or Tavares Knowles, or Sabal Palm Car Rental Co, or whatever they call themselves. I just spent a week on Eleuthera on a vacation that was punctuated by my spending two...

    Southeast destination..

Hey gang, I'm looking for a new place to go in the Southeast (generally) for a weekend trip. I was thinking Savannah or Charleston or New Orleans but I feel like I have done most of the things at these places for just a weekend's worth of fun; apart from exercising my liver. Anyone got...

    Collings W.O.F. Tour 2013

Very cool! I've always loved that airplane. Type ratings like that are fun to get. It is a kind of flying that 99% of pilots never get to do these days. Sitting in Venice, Fl right now underneath the Mustang. Had 6 flights yesterday, all back to back, so I'm kind of glad today is a tad...

    Collings W.O.F. Tour 2013

Yeah, those jets are pricey. But what a kick in the head it would be. They have a Huey gunship down there, too, that I got to go in last year. That was one helluva ride. Far and away one of the coolest things I've ever gotten to do. How is that Lodestar to fly?

    Collings W.O.F. Tour 2013

Man, i would LOVE to fly a Lodestar. What a cool ride. Where is that based? The C model is cool, and I think the prettier than the D. With the birdcage canopy it is a little hot and cramped at times buy, ya know, its worth it. :)

    Collings W.O.F. Tour 2013

Hey, all, I'll be flying the Collings Foundation's C model P-51 for a few stops after the tour starts on Jan 18. I'll be on in Sebring, Zephyrhills, Sarasota, Venice, and making the move in to Ft. Meyers. Hit www.collingsfoundation.org for the tour schedule, come say hello or go for a ride...

    Just like a 150...

Forward slip? So, what exactly is the difference between a forward slip and a slip of the side variety? Is there a backward slip? Quartering slip? Upward slip? Sorry, its a pet peeve.

    Howard Pardue RIP

The prelim report is out already. There was obviously a witness or two and Howard radioed to another airplane that he was going to do a half cuban on takeoff and fly back down the runway in the opposite direction. The other pilot reported what he saw (from the ground) and it looks like Howard...

    Anyone in Austin area?

I'll be moving a C model P-51 in to Fredricksburg (sp?), Tx tomorrow ( Friday, March 23) and will be there all weekend. Come get a ride in the Mustang or a bomber! Or just say hello and look at cool airplanes! Ask for the Mustang pilot if you want to see a sunburned, unshaven, possibly...

Jetblue kicks family off plane for toddlers tantrum

Really? All I said was that I can hardly imagine a prospective customer that would be turned off by this. I don't see it as a PR nightmare, more of a human interest story to which tons of people can relate, and the majority of which would appreciate being allowed to continue their flight in...

Jetblue kicks family off plane for toddlers tantrum

PR issue? I imagine that the majority of people ikely to buy an airline ticket are only more likely to try Jblu because of this. 2 thumbs up to the crew for standing up for the rest of the pax on board.

    Apologies to Fed Ex jumpseater

Look closely....those chairs were electrified. One mistake and ZAP! You can see that they keep a minimal amount of voltage pulsing through them just as a reminder. Just to contribute, I haven't ridden a J/S in years, but the gate agents were like that guy at the bridge in Monty Python Holy...

Suspected drunk pilot in OMA? Republic/CHQ

This thread is unbelievable. Do you people really think that a hotel van driver has any business doing anything other than driving the van and turning the heat up and down? . It is not the driver's place to counsel a customer on his life choices. He's not Mr. Miagi, for the love of God. In any...

    Hayden CO Crash?

Not that I would ever defend the media, but once you put anything out there on facebook, it is hardly private. The newspaper quoted the Father/Husband's facebook page which is as far from private as you can possibly get. Shame about the crash, though. Countdown to the usual: "Cleared...

Pilot dies from hand propping his plane

Stearman is the biggest I've done. No big deal. Also done an O-360 on a Super Cub a time or two. Huge difference between that on a cub and that on a cardinal, as discussed above.
