    Southern

Furloughs postponed is probably a better way to put it. It seems like they are struggling with a long term growth strategy, thus the month to month changes in the staffing forecast. It would be nice to have a crystal ball...

GoJet... Will it ruin my career?

    Um, are you hiring? :D

    Stealth Age 67 to 70

Seconded. Thank you all for your mentorship over the years, but it's time to retire and let the rest of us have a shot at making a living. There have been enough barriers to career advancement over the past decade or so without exacerbating the stagnation problem even more.

    Comair Future Uncertain ... Again

Exactly. With what is about to go down at Comair, maybe it's time for pilots on both sides of this decade long pissing contest to simply let it go. Mistakes made in the past should stay in the past. The fact of the matter is that a bunch of people are about to lose their livelihoods and face...

    Southern Air

The indication that we've gotten is that the pool may be drained with some upcoming opportunities and we've reopened the application window to have potential candidates on file should we have more chances at growing the company. Fairly nonspecific, but still a positive sign all things considered.

Any "Latest & Greatest" About Atlas?

Would you guys stop shouting at each other!? Gee whiz. :-)

AA seeks to cancel labor contracts

But cash has increased to $5.41 billion. Admittedly, I am not an MBA (praise Jesus) but it seems to me that the bean counters would have incentive to show huge accounting losses at a time when they are attempting to make the case for voiding labor contracts.

ATL-EWR Shuttle America nose up landing

EWR is a United hub following the merger with Continental.

    Southern Hiring

777 staffed for now. Most recent class were all assigned 400. Haven't heard of any more classic classes in the works. Most new hires have a variety of different backgrounds and experience from all of the above so one size does not fit all. Total times from 3500a to 10,000 plus...

    50 seat Jets. Uncertain future?

Unbelievable. Until recently, when I came back to get the gouge on my new employer, I hadn't been on FI in probably 4+ years. I come back and discover that it's still the same old crap on this forum. Here's to checking out for another 4-5 years after reading the same tired arguments all these...

Holiday Inn Express is also nice. Within walking distance of Pan Am and offer a $59 rate. Nice people and good van service.

    Aviation Management Group RDU

I worked there six years ago or so. Great company to work for. BG is a good guy and treats his employees fairly. When I was there, the company was experiencing some growing pains in the respect that there was no organized structure for allowing "hard" days off. We pretty much carried a pager...

US Air type in the Hudson?????????

Well done Captain Sullenberg, First Officer Skiles, and then entire cabin crew! Hope to buy you all a beverage of your choice someday!

    Comair's New President/Other Questions

Maybe so, but ask some of your union guys about the big RFP about 4 years ago..... The Comair MEC and ASA MEC had always had a "gentlemen's agreement" that they would work together should DAL approach either comapny with new flying-the idea was to do something mutually beneficial for both...

Comair to furlough an additional 150 pilots.

You really need to get laid.
  20. K

    DAL Regional Feed?

Well, that may explain the "economics" explanation that the Comair president gave during a recent webcast. If the deal is DL wants a 1 for 2 on the 900's, then Comair would be reduced below the minimum fleet numbers in the ALPA CBA, resulting in a snapback to Contract 2001.
