Did it today. The only hitch I saw was the last fix coming from the south and landing south. We had a tailwind and couldn't make the 6500-6000/190kts at the same time. Go down or slow down at that last one with a tailwind. Otherwise it was really nice...let us see if they let us do it... -

Our contract is more restrictive than the new FARs. Unless we roll over and wet ourselves and give the company the ability to schedule to FAR max, we shouldn't get hurt by the new rules too badly. -

It had to do with an answer he gave during his interview for an IP position. She thought he was a racist and HR wanted to immediately terminate the guy. He has been with the company for around 20 years. Fortunately cooler heads prevailed and with TK's intervention, he is still with us. -

You can rest assured they are looking for FB pages and aviation forums to get a sense of who you are. It is very competitive right now and anything the HR folks can use against you, they will. I am sure most of us on the property right now couldn't get hired in this environment right now. -

QX will be scuttled by AAG. The only thing that will save QX is the crappy CBA with baseball style arbitration and that fact the company will slash and burn QX. It is now your turn to be in the barrel. Sorry...I would go somewhere else and try to get the quick upgrade and position... -
Alaska News?
Horizon is on the way out. The Skywest thing is a trial by the company to see if it will work. Guess what, it is working well enough so they will scuttle QX and eliminate yet another employee group and thus, get out of retirement/benefits issues that they presented. -
