XJT reserve in EWR
Considering XJT (not by choice, recently laid off) and live a few hrs from EWR, can anyone give me the gist of how reserve is going there, is it 2 or 3 hr callout ? how long to bid the 12 hr callout? how long before get a line ? etc ... Any insight would be appreciated -

Thanks, that's what I had heard, 3 hr callout is doable, 2, no way I live exactly 2 hrs w/ no traffic. Thanks guys -

First year pay will only be 30K if you eat $48/day and work no overtime, both unlikely .... figure you eat half your PD, that's an extra 4K tax free, plus overtime ... medical benefits are offered, not sure on the details because I dont need em but from what I saw the regular thingamabob...- TheBigH

oh yea dude if you end up in a slimeball operation like that yeah ... but it also gives you ammunition to fight them if they come after you for the cash .... I wouldn't sign a 18K contract w/out having a pretty good idea of what it's like at the company, and not one from flightinfo .... it...- TheBigH

why is this contract such a big deal .... nobody is going to avantair to enjoy the 30,000 first years pay ... there's no type, it's just a "prop" as some of you say ... so where is the logic behind coming here, getting a few hundred hours of prop SIC and leaving ??? everyone being hired already...- TheBigH

filling June class right now .... not sure if it's full .... seems like they'll have classes every month for the rest of the year .... ground school at FS west palm beach I believe, flight training in st. pete on the airplane til sim is up and running in august ...- TheBigH
