How are the layovers at Atlas? Good hotels? Internet always available? Good food available? Any safety concerns?

JetBlue Application Window Opens Dec 1st

Any idea when calls will be going out and interviews scheduled for the batch of applications they receive this week? ASAP? Beginning of year? Spring? Summer?

    DTW Closing?

Yep they're going to replace the airport with a new mixed residential / commercial area. Mall, houses, etc. Everyone will drive to TOL or FNT if they need to fly.

something fishy Between STL and Alaska

SEA-STL is important nonstop due to Boeing and some other companies.

    Delta scheduling interviews?

Are these prescreen interviews essential to getting an actual interview? If you don't do a prescreen, do you still have a shot? How much does the prescreen help you?

    Rejected Takeoffs CRJ900

Really, the runways CRJ operators use are so long that it is bad technique to not abort for anything... if something is broken, don't fly.

Continental Has Deadline for Pilot Contract

Pilots sure are dumb sometimes. Anyone remember when scope for RJs was relaxed because it wasn't a big deal and nobody cared about them? Mainline guys managed to give away scope to the bottom half of their flying. Now they're going to give it away for the top half too.

    No TR's

    In a CRJ-200? I assume that DC-9 is landing on 22?

Anyone got any idea what the NPRM will look like?

ALPA proposed a sliding scale that, based on report time and number of legs, limits block and duty time for the day. 7-9 hours of block, depending on report time. 9-13 hours max duty, depending on report and number of legs. Less duty for more legs and reports that are extremely early or late...

Pilot vs Flight attendant fatigue policies

Fatigue/rest for a flight attendant is much more of a labor agreement issue than a safety issue.

Senate panel increases pressure on FAA’s fatigue solution

Yep and they sure did manage to kill a lot more passengers too.

    Pinnacle 40k bonus's :(

Aside from select few that take on additional responsibilities (ie: checkairmen), we all do the same job. We fulfill the requirements of our position and transport people from point A to point B. As long as you're capable of legally and safely doing it, why should one pilot be paid...

Bad time for a contract? - regional side

It really is unfortunate that valuable negotiating capital has to be used to negotiate for safety. Someone should write a news article about how union officials are forced to choose in contract negotiations whether to obtain adequate pay or adequate sleep for their pilots. Sleep so we can...

FAA to keep quite on new rest regs..for now

Wheres the incentive for airlines to come to the table and give LOAs that would cost the airline dearly?

PIC time, for the most part, shows that you are capable of passing training and operating day to day as a Part 121 captain. Once you have 1000 of it, that experience box is mostly checked off and other things start to become much more important. Someone who has 1000 PIC, knows the right...

    New Resources for Jumpseaters

I'm pretty sure the "thorny issue" they're referring to is that at least once, there has been a push for TSA workers to be allowed to jumpseat.

XJT forces 47 PAX to sleep aboard aircraft in Rochester, MN?

I can't stand how mainline carriers do everything to make it look like regionals are part of mainline.. until something bad happens. Hey Continental, you contracted them, you sold the tickets on them, and your Continental Airlines passengers are riding on them.... man up and take the blame. If...
