Do you think that our dispatcher license will qualify us to fly drones?

Since the dispatcher certificate has nothing to do with piloting anything, I doubt it.

I agree 100%. Pilots should also be required to sit in dispatch yearly as well.

    Shift patterns and fatigue

That's why I like our sched at SWA. even the 35 year vet works some weekends. Likewise, I get some weekends off every month, in addition to 6 consecutive days off monthly without having to use any vacation.

    Shift patterns and fatigue

SWA runs a 6-3-6-3-6-6 rotation. Top 80% of the group hold a year long line (i.e. all days, all afternoons, all mids, or vacation relief which can vary. Bottom 20% are on reserve which means neither your days on/off nor your start time are consistent. Obviously, the "reserve" life is harder...

    SWA LGA Captain Fired

Not on our ops specs any more.

    Southwest Nose Gear Collapse LGA

Ignorant statement #2. Third time is a charm. Besides, I just put my "pomp pomps" away.

    Southwest Nose Gear Collapse LGA

Wow. Absolutely told to never go around under any circumstance, and if you have fuel to taxi to the gate, you've loaded too much in the first place. Weight and balance forms are just suggestions and all maintenance items are taken care of when and if there's time after nap time.

    London hotel question

Last month we stayed at the Park Plaza County Hall which is next to Waterloo station and just two blocks from the London Eye and Parliament. Got a great rate through Interliners Britian.

    SWA Asst Dxer

Polar, I hadn't hear that about living in the area. We have several that live outside of the metroplex. One that lives in San Antonio and commutes daily.

I understand that they've sent notices for testing. Not sure if they've notified all who have been invited to test though.

    SWA Asst Dxer

Position closed on the 15th I believe, so with a holiday thrown in there it doesn't surprise me that it has taken two weeks. We've also had other internal OCC positional interviews that may have slowed things down. I haven't heard if they've started making calls. Remember, it was open much...

    It's live.

    SWA Asst Dxer

I doubt they posted it after 4:52am and it closed prior to 4:59am.

    SWA Asst Dxer

Positions should be posted again sometime today. Just hired 7 and will be hiring near that again.

    SWA Chief Dispatcher Opening

Just in case anyone was wondering about this position, the company reevaluated how they wanted to use this position. So, they are in the process of hiring 7 additional chiefs (will have 10 total). They determined they wanted to make it attractive for internals, so the money and schedule was...

    WSI Fusion?

While I'm not Skywest, I've grown to like Fusion quite a bit more than FE, FWIW. SWA has had Fusion for several years now.

Southwest changing it's "stance" in ATL. HMMMMMM

Not that it matters as the majority of the argument is false anyway, but SWA currently has 42 -800s in service. Just a few more than 18. [/I]

    A Change at Southwest????

Yeah, I've yet to see it printed anywhere that seat assignments are required on intl flights. Seems to just be from "they".
