    Mesaba in CVG

Mesaba is furloughing 45 more pilots and if they don't get 8 pilots a month to QUIT outright they are going to furlough up to 100. Management's story to the pilot group is gloom and doom as they want to minimize the hike in unemployment insurance they have to pay and they want to get the...

I don't suppose you could post the PM on this subject? I'm considering a move and would really appreciate more info.

    Married Comair Pilots...How's Life?

I'm a regional pilot married to a regional pilot. I think not seeing each other constantly keeps us married. One of us will always have to commute though which does suck.

    ACA Interview

Written test then panel interview with three pilots and possibly a HR person. If you pass then the sim. Brush up on Jepp legends. Look at will fly for food site for more.

    PSA-Mesaba

I've HEARD, not yet experienced, that training is more standardized and consistent. This is supposed to be happening with testing as well.

    PSA-Mesaba

Mesaba training has all moved to MSP. We've still got about 8 guys on furlough, the last 4 called back are being recalled into the Avro. Movement is going to be slow for a while, if you get on expect reserve or ready reserve with 10 days off a month for a while. Some pilots are leaving but...

    Mesaba Status

Mesaba just brought back all but 12 furloughees. There is no return date for those still furloughed. No outside hiring until they are brought back. Just hope people start flying again - lots!

    Crew bases in midwest?

Mesaba dba Northwest Airlink has bases in Minneapolis, Detroit, Rhinelander WI, Stevens Point WI, Memphis, Cincinnatti. Maybe we'll be hiring by the time you are ready to apply.

    Another low for airport screeners

That is so flippin' sad. That's what happens when you don't require a high school diploma for a job, they don't even recognize a hero. Dumb basta*d's. Maybe once the screeners are all US citizens they might actually know about WWII.

    What is Airlink doing?

Mesaba is taking over Saab flying out of Memphis. They are also creating a base with 30 or so Saab crews in Memphis. This is, happily, enabling Mesaba to recall about 40 of their 52 furloughed pilots. As to whether that route will still be a Saab route is not a question I can answer. Looking...

    Lewis University CFIs

Schedule, I think it was Mon thru Sat 7:30 to 5:30. Students sign up for time slots three days a week and have that slot for the semester. You can teach outside students when you do not have Lewis students. Note: this info is dated but generally shouldn't have changed much.

    Lewis University CFIs

Don't know if they're hiring but when I worked there they were always short of CFI's. Chief Pilot: William Goebel, flt dept ph. # 815-836-5484, address: Lewis University Flight Department RTE 53 Romeoville IL 60446. Pay was good, I think $14/hr. You got benefits like health insurance...

    US Air Pilot arrested

According to Airwise.com - aviation news, the pilot asked why they were worried about tweezers when he could crash the plane. Valid comment but poor timing.

    Who is still Out?

Mesaba has 54 furloughed, no news as to any recall.

    Flight crew fatigue (Part 121)

Hey, nobody has yet mentioned the continuous duty overnights. You go to work at 8:00 pm, fly several legs, hit a hotel for a couple of hours, fly back (one, two, more legs back), then sleep for a couple of hours till noon and try to straighten out your head to fly again that night. Three in a...
