What folks need to realize is that these are "airline jobs." Different airlines are hiring and different airlines are shrinking. If better airlines are hiring more experienced pilots (and due to stagnation a lot of pilots now fit in the "experienced" category) that is a GOOD thing!
If a pilot...
Good point (even if it isn't what we want to hear). Throw in a further draw down of CVG this fall and we are probably right back to an Advance Entitlement with a lot of displacement action. Displacements seem to always result in pilots in equipment by seniority order, while the junior...
Apparently a Congressman from Georgia is worried it could "capsize" if we base things there. The Navy's Pacific Fleet Commander doesn't think this is likely. The Congressman corrects him and says global warming wasn't anticipated either.

(FO) : "What? Pasta, a g a i n ?"
I've been told to take aircraft with maintenance discrepancies, some quite serious (no power to Essential bus, hi stage bleed leak and Overheat indication, etc ... ) usually due to inexperienced mechanics not understanding the MEL. In each case I politely held my ground while someone in...
No, but in order to comply with your altitude requests we need to have the jet properly configured. Without slats/flaps many modern jets just don't slow down or come down because those engineers have designed them to be very, very, efficient (shockers).
The alternative is to "dirty up early"...
This really depends. Considerations include:
On a 50 seat RJ there isn't very far to go and not much going on in the isles. In a 330 seat jet you usually have passengers up (even with the seat belt sign on) and FA's up to serve those passengers.
In case anyone forgot, we are held to the...
I'd debate you with quotes from your own pilots on this board, but as RedRum has pointed out NOTHING would help you appreciate the position you find yourself in.
Being forever frustrated about something you can't change will not do you any favors. Might as well look at the good side, as most...
Not exciting news, but closer to the truth than anything else on this thread.
This fall I expect DCI will get pulled down less than DAL overall, on a percentage basis. The LGA gate swap will result in more DCI flying, meaning a smaller reduction than planned.
Huh? My friends say the huge pay increase and restoration of longevity are appreciated. They are looking forward to bidding larger equipment in what they consider to be better bases this spring. They are happy.
Kind of weird to see this thread. Arguing seniority in a merger that will never happen is really pointless. Frankly, Joe's made the right call for Joe. ACL has made the right call for ACL. Both did well with the decisions they made.
Neither did better than the other, they did the best for...
FDJ2:
No that is not what I, or he, wrote. He proposed several options. The first one, the one you mentioned, was in very poor taste. He should have welcomed the Delta pilots like we did at ASA.
But the fact that "the bell tolls" for Comair is exactly why he was trying to protect his pilots...
