    Spirit question

Hi. I've had several Spirit guys jumpseat in the last few months and they all have said there should be hiring soon due to scheduled deliveries. Any insight? Can't seem to find any evidence of that here, on their website or elsewhere. Thanks.

    JFK to EWR

Any suggestions on how to get from JFK to EWR in under an hour that's less than 50 bucks. I know how to do the trains but that will probably take too long. I get done at 1900 in Kennedy and I am trying to catch a 2100 flight. Thanks!

    Comair furloughs 59 more

Even with early out separation, voluntary furlough, and early retirement offered, Comair will be down to 1030 pilots by the fall, with a total of 356 on furlough (up to Sept 06 DOH). The bleeding has been slow and painful.

ASA to take 7 Comair aircraft a month

I had to post this for two reasons because one, this is so ridiculous it sounds like a nice conspiracy and two, if this is true, Comair will be incurring mass furloughs soon. So here it is. Sitting in Atlanta today minding my own business, an ASA captain decides to strike up a conversation. How...

    Mercury?

Well I did a search to see if I'm the first jack@$$ to ask this and didn't see anything so...when did Shuttle America start calling themselves Mercury and why are you guys going by both? Now you have Shuttlecraft, Mercury, Brickyard, and Chautauqua call signs all under one roof? I heard...

    AirTran Jumpseat

Hey AirTran and/or Delta guys. I tried to jump on AirTran last week from CLT-BWI and was denied at the AirTran counter. Luckily Airways could take me, thanks guys. Anyway, myself being with Comair, she said all AirTran/Delta agreements were cancelled Oct 8th. I understand the interline and...

    Comair is not an airline!

"Comair is not an airline. Comair is simply someone who leases its aircraft to Delta," Boyd said. "Comair is turning a profit. Well, so is the toilet paper vendor for Delta. All that means is Comair is making money by Delta moving money from one pocket to another."...

    US Air Jumpseat?

I'm trying to get to DCA from CLT on Sunday night. With my airline not being CASS approved yet, can I still get a seat in the back and how many jumpseaters will Airways take? Thanks in advance.

First video of SXM I've seen

Kind of takes me back to days when I was 5 and went to watch airplanes. Actually went to Maho Beach during a previous honeymoon. Still love planes, still love women, just not that one anymore. ;) http://www.big-boys.com/articles/stmarten.html

Perception of CMR pilots in the media

http://news.enquirer.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20050118/BIZ01/501180331 But Buttrell faces challenges, including: • High labor costs at Comair in comparison with other regional airlines. • A fractious and sometimes stubborn pilot union, which went on strike in spring 2001...

    More Comair/ASA spinoff talk

http://news.enquirer.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20041216/BIZ01/412160347/1002/BIZ My favorite line is this.... "We don't have to own them (Comair and Atlantic Southeast Airlines) to get the benefits from them," Grinstein told The Wings Club, an aviation group, during a...

    CFI Renewal

I got the notice from the Feds that my CFI expires in March and that's a good thing because it had totally slipped my mind. I don't teach anymore but I'd like to keep it current. Anyone know of a cheap online way to renew? Thanks.

    No more FRJs in CVG?

Maybe this has already been discussed and I missed it, but if you look at the Delta schedules next month I can't find a single Dojet flight out of CVG. I know the ACA contract expires in a couple of weeks, but what happened to Skyway? Even the heavy Dojets routes (CRW, TRI, DAY, CLT) are all...

    Tornadoes!

What a terrible outbreak of twisters this weekend! From the midwest now moving east. Makes me wonder. What altitude do most tornadoes reach? It can't be more than a few hundred feet. Therefore, if for some God aweful reason you're flying above one, what conditions will exist? Must be some...

    Wake Turbulence

Never thought about wing tip vortices occuring off of elevators, but here's proof. Well, these airfoils are larger than most wings. More reason to come in higher than the heavy! http://www.airliners.net/open.file/581614/M/ http://www.airliners.net/open.file/583725/M/...

    Yankees make me sick

Only a week ago the most overpaid losers were 3 games below 500, and now they've tied the Bosox for 1st. It makes me want to vomit repeatedly. I know it's still early but shouldn't the baseball gods go ahead and smite them! It goes to show that doubling the payroll and stacking the talent can...

Just have to vent a little

This by no means applies to the majority of corp. guys that I run into on a daily basis, most of you are very professional and friendly but.... After four years of flying, I've resorted to working the line again in order to pay the bills (between jobs at the moment). A couple of days ago, an...
