USAir jumpseat - "are you listed?"

This is exactly my experience. 9 out of 10 CLT and LGA agents say don't list and are very accommodating to jumpseaters. The rest of the system is a complete crapshoot. Then again that 1 agent in CLT or LGA that asks you, why didn't you list, I just politely say "I was encouraged to not do that...

    JetBlue class dates

If anyone hears what number they get to in the pool with the October calls, please post.

    JetBlue class dates

50 more this year is a good start, when might the pool run dry? Something like 130 total.

COMAIR Pilots get $31,000 each severance

No FO is getting anywhere close to 31K, this is an average number across the board including cobra cost to the company, the 30 year Capts inflated this number substantially (just like in the USA Today when it says the average pilot in the US makes 80k). After taxes it's not much. It's pretty...

    JetBlue

What about those who interviewed in Nov? How many do they expect the be in the pool and will you have to re-interview if they don't start classes again this year?

    Crew Hotels JFK

Negative, this place was ok when they charged us 70-80 bucks for a crew rate, last time I went there it was $119, you can get much better (doubletree, crowne, hilton garden etc) chain hotels near Kennedy for less, through Priceline bidding or just talking to the right local person on the phone...

    Bloomberg on AF447

Probably one of the most intelligent and thought provoking posts I've ever read on this forum. Thank you. In addition: Never flown a Bus, but have jumpseated countless times and always wondered why the wing ice was never used. I was told because the wing is not super critical like the crappy...

    Evergreen Hiring 60..

Where does one apply? Nothing on the website showing pilot openings. thanks.

    Spirit question

You said it. At least you don't have to somehow find 2-4 grand to buy a ME piston ATP just to be eligible to apply to most places. Good luck buddy.

    Spirit question

Thanks for the reply. I'm not trying to sound deflated or toss in the towel but when a job listing says PIC required or preferred it's hard to be optimistic. However due to circumstances in the last ten years there are highly qualified pilots with 5, 6, 7, or 8 thousand hours with no PIC simply...

    Spirit question

*Sigh* thanks for the reply. I hope guys from Comair and Eagle that never had a chance to upgrade yet have boatloads of 121 times will get a chance to interview at places like Spirit, etc in the next few years.

    Spirit question

Hi. I've had several Spirit guys jumpseat in the last few months and they all have said there should be hiring soon due to scheduled deliveries. Any insight? Can't seem to find any evidence of that here, on their website or elsewhere. Thanks.

    comair

Come on people you are all full of nonsense. Comair has been on the verge of shutting down for years yet Delta won't do it. This is fear, uncertainty, and doubt propaganda created by management to scare people in contact negotiations. What disappoints me most is Skywest and ASA pilots salivating...

    looks like Sywest buys Comair

All the performances numbers reset to 100% at midnight, but they are now showing zeros. Oh well, everybody saw this coming for years.

XJT FA jumpseat now available to offline pilots

OK thanks, I'll remember that next time. In my case the gate agent said no, the captain didn't know so he called the chief pilot and he said no. But the Continental guy on the cockpit seat agreed to switch with me to get me home.

XJT FA jumpseat now available to offline pilots

I ran into a problem with this policy today. Jumpseating on XJT today, a mainline Continental pilot already had the jump, the captain came to the gate just to confirm with the gate agent about the load, like we should all do when full. I asked the capt if I could take the FA jump. The agent said...

Comair moving out of JFK and into DTW Sept 1st

Just another concerted effort by management and DS to lower costs by making as many senior pilots miserable enough to finally quit. What they don't understand is that the lifers will stay until the doors close, no matter how bad it gets. I'm sort of relieved because I don't have to compete with...

JetBlue guys, please fix jump seat

    1) JB crews are great and will try and get you on if they know about you 2) Yes commuting sucks, very very much 3) Gate agents may have been told that they should list people at the gate but the message is not getting out. They will not do it in Kennedy. If you're hurrying for a quick...

    Comair rumour

Agreed, everyone I've ever spoken about this sorry excuse for sustenance (who is not a native of the greater CVG area), says it the worst, most foul crap ever invented by man. The story, like mine, is always the same...I took one bite and never touched it again.:puke:
