Turbo Commander Operators, Please Step Inside

+1 on the Conquest II. It is one bad-ass machine with the Dash-10s. 2k ft/min all the way up. 290kts on 500/hr. Lower if you are RVSM'd.

Vision Airlines to fly struck Spirit Flights

How about a bit different scenario? I was an ALPA carrier Captain at the time and may have had a different tune to sing until I was better educated. And by that, I mean confused by reality. A couple of years ago, Netjets was not on stike, but doing serious picketing. Many 135 operators...

    ARW Wiss Key Magazine

Since the Union has barred the AWAC'ers from posting company laundry on the boards, I guess none of them are talking. I understand the company caught wind of what was in the mag and pulled all of them from V-files before many folks could get them. It's guaranteed to be the most read and talked...

Where will an Air Wisconsin newhire "likely" be based?

The newhires always have the best dirt.

PBS Frontline expose' on regional airline industry

Did someone piss in that Ben Coats guys Cheerios? I would bet that to only be there for a year or so, he must have had some other problems. I am not saying that changing weights is ok.... Clearly, it's not. But reporting that wouldn't get him let go. I am going to assume he was just a real...

    A little Haiti help?

I just sent them an email. Thanks for the tip! I have a friend with a Saab-2000 type, but his job went away with some team shakeup thing. I don't know NASCAR much, but it sucked for him. If anyone else has ideas, keep 'em coming! Twinbeech

    A little Haiti help?

Hi guys/gals, I am looking for any help regarding the below letter. The letter was written by my good friend's mom. She is scheduled to go on this trip as well and has asked for my help. Even with past freight and pax experience, I am at a loss. I don't know any current 135 DC3 operators which...

    Sleepy NWA pilots?

Wouldn't that be fun? It is already tough not to nod off even when you are able to converse. If they put that in the regs, many more will "oversleep" their destination!

UAL 747-400 Parked in Mojave Desert!

It sure would be nice to give Tilton a swift kick in the jimmy. "That one is for ship #8196!"

    Aborting a T/O

How about this one... It is the F/O's takeoff and for whatever reason, the flight controls don't feel right. Call it a rudder pedal that "feels funny". He does not notice it until about 80 knots. He calls for an abort but the Captain, not noticing anything wrong, says to continue. The F/O...

    ALPA 401k vote.

Come on mainline guys... I am no longer an airline guy at all, so I will offer a somewhat unbiased opinion. If this would have passed, quite a few regional airlines would have most likely decertified ALPA as well. As much as you like to piss on the RJ types, you most likely were one, or you...

    Washington Post on "inflexible" pilots

CopilotDoug, That was a great find save for only one thing... The author's name is not included. I don't know if that is the way you found it, or if you lopped it off yourself. The thing is that was one very well worded and thought out letter. Kudos to him! Of course, we are only a few...

Need examples of "Pilot Fatigue" type schedules

I would NOT work at another regional airline. I hated it enough at AWAC that I left after more than four years. If it sucks worse at your airline and you tell me to quit whining, then you are part of the problem. Why you put up with sh_t like that is beyond me. Now that AWAC opened up LGA...

    L-3 Communications / Dynamic Aviation

No jerkness taken! The contact I had was when I was out riding my motorcycle and stopped in at PHF to check things out. A bunch of foriegn military stuff flying out of there. Also Lears with hardpoints on them which is kinda neat if you ask me!

    L-3 Communications / Dynamic Aviation

Last time I checked with L3, you needed to be former Military with aerobatic, jet, and security clearance. I could be wrong though.

    Ram Air Freight Pay Increase

Getting better, but if you like the midwest... Freight Runners starts at $45,000. Tough to beat that for first year pay.
