Polar Air Cargo to get four 747-400F's

cfire, I think it would be great news for Polar to get four new 747-400Fs, don't you? It should be good for Polar and Atlas, since the goal is to merge the groups. I'd be extremely excited if I heard that Atlas was getting four 747-400Fs, I can't see why Atlas crews shouldn't be equally...

    atlas hiring

Flyingducthman, I think you mean to direct your question to the Atlas guys. The Polar pilots are all based in either ORD or LAX. PS- Like the Avatar....;)

    Atlas-Polar Fleet Questions

I think we might see more cooperation between Atlas and Polar pilots in the coming year. A lot more. Management has a big surprise waiting for them under the Christmas tree. ;)

    Polar Engineers to be Re-instated!!

Sounds like they should have bought Atlas.

    Polar Engineers to be Re-instated!!

This particular arbitration was only regarding the wrongful termination of the F/E's. Had nothing to do with the furloughed pilots.

    DHL buys 49% of Polar

I hear the Atlas chief pilots (David Bourne) support speech for Duane Woerth at the BOD meeting is what helped cost Duane the election. No surprise to see that the Atlas MEC was supporting Woerth. They always seem to be on the wrong side of the popular opinion, both within ALPA and industry...

    New ALPA President

I'm sure Beebe had his hands full making sure that Woerth maintained his $400,000+ per year salary during these times of "declining dues revenue" (ie. 25% paycuts and massive furloughs)

    DHL buys 49% of Polar

So, 100+ Atlas crewmembers cross the Polar lawful picket lines while Polar is on strike. Then Polar and ALPA national drop their pursuit of scab status for these people in an effort to establish good relations moving forward, now 70 of these picket line crossers (listed here...

Looks like Polar is saving AAWH's bacon once again. And I thought all you Atlas guys said Polar had NO VALUE?!?

Has ALPA tried to bring AA back?

I guess I better read my own posts better. I guess I should have said "The VAST MAJORITY of TWA pilots were stapled, with the rest being integrated from the BOTTOM of the AA list."

Where did I say they were ALL stapled?

Has ALPA tried to bring AA back?

I would argue it is the best thing that could have happened for the AA pilots. There are over 2700 pilots on furlough from American right now. The VAST majority of them are TWA (due to the staple job). If it wasn't for TWA, there would be 2700 AA pilots on the street. Buying TWA and...

    AA's Priorities

This doesn't even make sense. How can you possibly recall an Eagle guy who as never lost his job due to furlough, never missed a paycheck, never even worked for AA, before a pilot that is on the street? That's kind of like me saying, "ALL 2700 pilots that were furloughed from AA should...
