Don't hold your breath for a pilot shortage

Yep, exactly what this guy says. I made 85k last year on reserve, life is so unfair!

    20 year career earnings...

Saw some data recently about 20 year earnings based on current pay rates, average line values, 401k contributions, expected upgrade, and typical career progression (ie narrow body to wide body FO and captain) and was shocked at the results. Delta was the lowest of Southwest, Airtran, Frontier...

iPhone App For 737 Limitations and Memory Items

There's another app from an ASA guy that has flashcards for lots of different aircraft as well, its called flash q/ard.

    Summer here at CAL

I think he was referring to 'feed up' as in how women in aviation tend to over-eat, and thus a tendency towards huge, um, plus sized, as$es. And he was mistaken about the 'thin skin' thing too, I think most of the 'womens' in aviation have thick skin because of the rolls of fat just underneath...

    ASA 'Nam Confirmation

You forgot to mention that one of the 4 G's is in the van with him on the way to the Quality Inn! Let's be honest, I'd take Grandma, Gay, Ghetto or Grande over any one of the 25 hotties that started the show with Jake, any day!

    ASA Vietnam base?

As opposed to replacing American pilots with cheap American labor ala GoJets. How's that dignity working out for you?

    Pilot Survey

Enjoy the porn I signed you up for! Lesson #1: Never post your email in a public forum.

    Good job ASA alpa....

No thanks on dual qual. Thats a sizeable paycut for 1/3 of the pilot group. Vacation, training, min day credit etc all paid at lower rate.

AirTran announces new service to Key West

If the White Dragon, John R, and Jeffrey C from ASA can land there, Airtran will have no problems...

ASA pass privileges extended to step parents...

Humility is out the window...this is FI! 9E needs some motivation, they're getting bent over a barrel now with the loss of their pass privis and now the company wants dual-qual.

ASA pass privileges extended to step parents...

Very nice addition to our pass rider privileges with the addition of 2 more pass riders for step parents. When all the others, 9E in particular, are 'loosing' ASA gets a nice enhancement.

    ASA callback rumors

Given Delta's recent announcement about further cuts, consider this thread closed...the furloughed aren't coming back anytime soon.

    Constant Descent Arrivals...

So ASA is jumping on the CDA test into ATL using 2 new RNAV arrivals not only for fuel savings but to 'reduce our carbon footprint'. Here comes the barf... GMAFB. The best way to reduce your carbon footprint is to hold your breath until you turn blue and then pass out. Think of the savings! It's...

    ASA callback rumors

Scott was in the lounge yesterday and reiterated his email from a few weeks ago, make your money now because there will be a large drop in block hours come fall. So, no, no rumors about callbacks...

    Useful iPhone App

Go to the Manage cards button and click in the search tab. A bunch of card sets come up by default but if you put ASA or crj in the search box, the results get narrowed down. Click on the title and the cards will download into the app.

    Useful iPhone App

For $3 I can study our oral study guide for a PC on my iPhone as opposed to carrying a book. Hmmm 350 flashcards or reading out of a book, which seems like a better way to study? I'd say it's useful...

    Useful iPhone App

Just plugging an iPhone app that an ASA captain just started selling ($3) on iTunes, it's called Flash Q/Ard! and includes a bunch of limitations for Shuttle America, Chautauqua, ExpressJet and, of course, the ASA oral study guides for the 50 and 70 seaters. You can make your own cards as well...

The Writings of an ASA Pilot...

Great point, I guess they better start putting the wet wipes in there too. Beware pilots, those wet wipes might sting if you use them on more than just the markers...

The Writings of an ASA Pilot...

I didn't realize ASA had so many pilots that could write. There are some good writings in the new ASA crew room twosie facilities. I gotta hand it to management on this one, installing white boards WITH dry erase markers in the stalls was a pure stroke of genius which has led to some Hemingway...
