    11/14/10. Refused security = $10,000 fine

I think it was the 9th circuit appeals court that decided this is not an option. It would allow terrorists to test out weakspots and continue to do so until they get through. So if you discontinue the security screening you are subject to that civil lawsuit and 10k fine.

    CFI renewal in europe

CFI cert is about to expire in 2 months and i was looking to renew it while i'm stuck in europe. I've only ever renewed on the basis of my pass rate, so i'm not familiar with the (online) refresher course. I also haven't actively flown in a while and am not in the position to finance any flights...

N-reg jobs / operators in EU?

Thanks for the info! I checked it out - seems parc only has jobs posted that all require a type rating :/

N-reg jobs / operators in EU?

Recently moved back to europe and faced with either spending lots of money on JAR conversion or finding a N-reg operator. I don't suppose anyone knows of a company looking to hire FAA cert. pilots in the EU region? Pretty much looking for anything.

Wait a minute: Demonstrated X-wind Velocity

About a month ago i landed a 152 at a nice little airport that had winds blowing directly across it at 22 Gusting 29. It was a very... uhh... challenging experience. :)

    Lufthansa Airline Training Center ?

Well i got a good job now that gives me plenty of multitime and has a great work environment. Problem is, $13 an hour ain't jack ********************. Especially if my current ratio of work for pay is 2.2 / 1. So the other day i got a flyer in the mail advertising that lufthansa training...

    Class G Airspace

The brown shaded areas you refer to can be found on IFR low enroute charts, and yes, it does depict areas were Class G goes up to 14.5k. REmember, it is all Class G airspace up to 14.5k unless depicted otherwise. It just so happens that class G has become increasingly rare at those altitudes and...

    Instructor shortage..

doesn't work. People have tried that in the past. It takes some 30 hours to take someone through CFI course. School says if YOU spent at least 20 flight hours with a student, you get 200 bonus when the finish. So essentially its a $8/hr bonus IF those students finish. meh.

    Instructor shortage..

The school i work for pays $13 an hour, while charging the student for $60/hr just for the instructor. Crazy, aint it? Then they wonder why CFI's leave after 6 months and there are no qualified instructors around who can teach initial-CFI applicants. You should see the backlog at our school. Its...

    CFI Question...

hm..... The Single engine sea plane rating is a RATING, not an endorsement like high-performance or tail-draggers. To be able to instruct in a plane for the purpose of logging time towards an FAA raiting, you need to hold the proper ratings on the FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR certificate, not the...

    Need Some Feedback

If by " stealing their students finacial aid" you mean "taking students financial aid and sending it back to their financial instution because of student inactivity, as required by law", then yes, that would be the case. Btw... no more chinese at spartan, although the flight school next door...

    Question regarding 141 instruction

Why ? Because the FAA determined pilots would receive adequate instruction at 141 schools. Do i agree with that? No.... not as far as the instrument rating is concerned at least...... scares the sheet out of me knowing most of them only passed the checkride by constantly doing the same...

    Rotor add on training question

If you would consider leasing out the helo you should be able to rack up the required outs per year to break even. Otherwise i would have to say no, you wouldn't stay busy.
