    Prices on Avionics

I'd say about 7-8 grand for everything... get some quotes from www.starkavionics.com for new equipment, and then deduct whatever you feel is a reasonable amount...

    Is there a G-V/550 database?

    Try this..may not be 100% reliable: http://www.planelist.net/gulfstream-jet.zip

    Croatia Airlines

Freight, are you on http://www.zrakoplovni-forum.hr/forum/ yet? If you need that kind of info, that forum is the place to be.. Anyways.. good luck getting a job.. if you don't have any connections.. forget about it.. I know some folks who tried.. and didn't get in..

    Halo Headset..from Quiet Tech..

That's an option.. I use regular foam plugs that come with the headsets.. that works well (for me).. If you ever used regular yellow ear plugs and they worked fine.. you don't need to make a trip to the audiologist.

    Halo Headset..from Quiet Tech..

I should post an update - I now own a pair.. looks like the mic problem has been resolved.. this one's much, much better..

    Halo Headset..from Quiet Tech..

Generally, I liked it... after a few min, you don't even notice you are wearing 'em.. One reason I don't own a set (yet) -- F**** mic.. total POS.. unless it's inside your mouth (eg. touching the lips doesn't cut it...), it won't pick up anything.. but try 'em.. they may work for you...

    Instructing In An Experimental/Homebuilt

An instructor may be paid for services provided in an experimental airplane, but charges can't be levied for use of the airplane. You or your student cannot rent a homebuilt for the purpose of training... Providing transition training (which is what was mentioned above) is a special case.

    looking to build

I went with 180hp.... didn't think that such a small increase in performance warranted 2x sticker price.. but you gotta choose what you like best..

    Which Aircraft to Build?

You're all set. RV-7 is it.. again, based on your requirements. It's fun to build and absolute joy to fly. And it sure can be built by a novice. However, there will be so many other RV builders (whereever you are, there are at least a few) that help will always be around when needed. Can't...

    Which Aircraft to Build?

Based on the criteria mentioned, you can't go wrong with an RV. But before you start, make sure you have enough time etc to build one.. it's a BIG commitment.

Is Vne a true airspeed or a indicated airspeed?

Rally, you're getting two different answers, because they're in two different contexts. What Axel says IS true.. for as long as you stay within manufacturers limits (or fly a plane with a barber pole.. or EFIS where computer performs same function). It would NOT be true if you took a C-172...

Is Vne a true airspeed or a indicated airspeed?

It is TAS... not IAS. What seems to be disregarded in some of these answers is sure you can use IAS if that will keep you within airplane's envelope.. or if it doesn't, they put a barber pole... edit: Just to add, per article, flutter is NOT a function of dynamic pressure, but velocity of...

Flying outside the US with an Experimental Cert?

Don't know if market survey is any different, but exp/amateur built fly internationally just fine. If you want a nice write-up of going to Mexico, take a look here: http://www.rvproject.com/2005_mexico_intro.html and http://www.rvproject.com/2004_mexico_trip_log.html Canada seems to be...

    any RV owners/pilots

Yes, more head and leg room in the -7.. you'd be fine in a -6 as well... I'm just a bit taller and I was OK.. though, I do prefer the -7.

    any RV owners/pilots
